Accessibility Statement

Accessibility is central to Disability Culture Lab’s mission. We believe disabled people should be able to access information, participate in community, and engage with our programs without unnecessary barriers. We strive to design and maintain our website with usability, accessibility, and disability justice principles in mind.

Our Commitment

We are working to ensure that our website is accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including those who use screen readers, voice recognition software, keyboard navigation, alternative input devices, captions, magnification tools, and other assistive technologies.

Our goal is to meet or exceed the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA wherever possible.

Ongoing Improvements

As an organization led by and working alongside disabled people, we recognize that accessibility is an evolving practice, and we are committed to responding to community feedback and improving our digital spaces over time. We regularly review our website and digital content to identify and address accessibility barriers. This includes efforts such as:

  • Using clear and consistent navigation

  • Providing alternative text for meaningful images

  • Using accessible color contrast and readable typography

  • Providing captions or transcripts for multimedia content when available

  • Reviewing documents and downloadable resources for accessibility
